When you see that a company is a Member of the AIPP, it means that they have been vetted and approved, and that they have voluntarily agreed to follow and be bound by the industry Code of Conduct.

The Property Ombudsman (TPO) scheme has been providing consumers and property agents with an alternative dispute resolution service for 25 years and provides consumers with a free, impartial and independent alternative dispute resolution service. TPO is a government approved scheme to provide independent redress in relation to disputes between consumers and property agents. The Ombudsman provides redress, where appropriate, to consumers whose complaints are considered on a case by case basis. TPO is a full member of the Ombudsman Association and adheres to the organisation’s principles of good governance for ombudsman schemes. TPO is one of several redress schemes approved by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute under the ADR Regulations 2015.

The Consumer Codes Approval Scheme (CCAS) is operated by the Trading Standards Institute to provide consumers with reassurance about codes of practice run by membership organisations (such as trade associations). You can find out more by visiting our information pages.

The Approval Process is fully transparent and open to scrutiny by the public at each stage. Any member of the public, consumer group, business or interested party is entitled to view and comment on the submissions (click the link at the top of the page to see the current submissions) put forward by applicants for approval of their code of practice.
